Manifestations of HGH Deficiency

You may have heard about HGH or human growth hormone, and you might have heard it being referred to as an anti aging potion. But did you know that human growth hormone is not just another age defying discovery. HGH is actually a hormone present in our body, and is being produced and regulated by the pituitary gland. Such gland is responsible for the growth and the weight of a person, hence, a person experiences certain malfunctions and woes when he or she has HGH deficiency

HGH deficiency manifestations can be apparent in the different stages of a human body. During younger stage, like infants and toddlers, hypoglycemia or low blood sugar can be a symptom. For boys, micropenis or abnormal size of penis is apparent. Prolonged jaundice can also be a manifestation of HGH deficiency. Meanwhile, when a person starts to get older, he or she will experience poor bone density and less body mass. The person will be abnormally shorter and leaner compared to his or her age. Consequently, the person tends to have low energy levels with poor memory levels as well. In effect, the individual cannot cope up with stressful situations which would require him or her to move rigorously. Dull and dry skin and aged disposition are two of the apparent manifestations of HGH deficiency in a person. Other symptoms also include baldness, loss of concentration and focus, abnormal increase of body fat particularly in the waistline, raised cholesterol levels and lipid abnormalities.

On the one hand, HGH deficiency can be treated when diagnosed early. Hormone replacement therapies which can be acquired thru injections done by medical practitioners are one of the most opted solutions in dealing with HGH deficiency. While there are HGH supplements in the market, it is always advisable to consult with your doctor before taking in any over the counter medications, especially if it’s used to combat deficiencies.
